Vancouver’s housing system is facing serious challenges

Vancouver and Clark County offer a strong network of housing resources, from emergency shelter and rental assistance to affordable housing development and tenant education. Whether you're facing eviction, looking for subsidized housing, or navigating landlord-tenant issues, these local organizations can help.

The Vancouver Housing Authority is the region’s primary provider of subsidized housing and Section 8 vouchers. They manage a wide range of properties and programs aimed at low-income families, seniors, and people with disabilities. Their offices on Main Street and Omaha Way serve as key access points for applications and housing navigation.

Clark County Community Services coordinates funding and partnerships for affordable housing, homelessness prevention, and veteran housing support. They also administer the Veterans Assistance Fund and work closely with nonprofits like Share Vancouver and Council for the Homeless.

The Portland Housing Center, while based across the river, offers homebuyer education, down payment assistance, and financial coaching to residents in the metro area, including Vancouver.

Bridgeview Resource Center is a one-stop hub for housing, employment, and family services. Located near the Heights District, it connects residents to rental assistance, job training, and youth programs.
Community and Family Programs and Sea Mar Family Housing provide culturally responsive housing support, especially for immigrant and BIPOC communities. Sea Mar also integrates housing with healthcare and behavioral health services.

Finally, Washington County Housing Services supports residents who may be living or working across the border in Oregon, offering rental assistance and affordable housing development in Hillsboro and beyond.
